SPCC is Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures.
What are SPCC regulations? What are the objects of its regulations? SPCC is the abbreviation of Spill Prevention, Control and Solutions. This regulation is intended to prevent oil contamination of U.S. waterways under the authoritative rules of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and the Clean Water Act. The SPCC Code outlines the requirements for owners and operators of onshore and offshore facilities to prepare and implement leak prevention, control and resolution plans.
Application of leak prevention and control products
SPCC regulations require production owners and operators to implement SPCC plans as a secondary leak prevention and control solution for containers larger than 55 gallons. Each secondary leakage prevention and control product must comply with:
(1) Can accommodate the entire volume of liquid in the largest container.
(2) Have enough ultra-high sediment.
Remark:
(1) Super height: the vertical distance from the lowest point where the contained liquid spills.
(2) The super height of the leakage prevention and control pallet must be determined by the production owner or operator, or his engineer, and stated in the SPCC plan.
(3) Good Engineering Practice states that pallets with protective structures do not need to be extra high to contain sediment.
