Static Electricity Can be Harmful
We all have been to the science museum, and most of them have a static ball area inside. We can see kids touching it and get their hair to stand, people laugh a lot there and obviously they have fun there. In fact, static electricity can be a nuisance or even a danger. The energy stands your hair can also damage electronics and cause explosions. As we all know human body is 60% water and that makes us conductors, electric charge can pass through us, and electricity is carried by protons and electrons. So when we are touch different materials in the daily life, for example, carpet, sweater, we create static electricity and electrons move from the former and wait for "charge". Meanwhile, when an object is earthed, it is an insulator, for example, your TV in the living room, when a conductor get touches with an insulator, the electrons accumulated would be discharged immediately and create static. We all had this kind of experience of finger "shock" on the door knob, kitchen table, car, etc, sometimes we can even see sparks in the dark, that is static. It makes your finger numb and actually it can do more. When static electricity build up in clouds and release, that will be a big flow of charge through the atmosphere, and we call that lightning. A sudden discharge of high voltage even can provide a source of ignition for flammable substance. Big flow of electric charge can be harmful to your body. When the charge flows through your body, you might get electric shock. And this could even cause burns or even stop your heart. That brings death to people. So in all industries, static proof is a MUST. The most common solution is earthling, or we call grounding. When an object get touched with the earth, the static it carries would be discharged to the earth and keeps the object safe. At most work places, it is very common to see a column with a touch ball on top, that is a static releasing device, it is grounded and you need to touch it before you enter the work place, Just in order to eliminate the electrons you carried with you. For storage at your workplace and lab, static proof is also something you need to consider about, unless you want a little "electron discharge" when you touch the cabinet. Which means, your cabinet needs grounding. Normally, when we ship out our cabinets, there are grounding cables with it as default config, but if you need better grounding to it, special made grounding wires would be an good idea. Those wires come with clamps or rings for proper grounding at different locations, when you link it to earth and your cabinet, the grounding is done, and the electrons carried by operator would be discharged and lead to the earth. We suggest you to check out your lab equipment and cabinets for proper grounding, make sure they static proof and that would bring safety to your staff, and also your workplace.  
Outdoor chemicals storage container project delivery

The circuit in the container is set in strict accordance with the explosion-proof requirements, and all the configurations in the container are equipped with qualified explosion-proof lamps and explosion-proof electrical equipment. Safety warning signs are posted in a prominent position, and the safety signs comply with the GHS "Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals" (the signs are made of corrosion-resistant materials).   System introduction: Explosion-proof temperature control system The inner wall of the container should be equipped with 100mm thick class A fire insulation to prevent the internal temperature from overheating when the sun is shining or anti-freezing in winter; The container body is equipped with explosion-proof refrigeration equipment, which can effectively control the internal temperature of the cabinet when the room temperature is too high and too low, and meet the temperature requirements of GB17914-2013 "Technical Conditions for storage and maintenance of Flammable and Explosive Commodities". When the temperature in the container is close to the set temperature value, the explosion-proof air conditioner will automatically turn on. When the temperature exceeds the set temperature value, the system will automatically start the audible and visual alarm light, and the user can choose to manually turn on the cooling system.   Lightning protection and anti-static system The explosion-proof electrical cabinet is equipped with a lightning surge protection device, and the user buries flat iron so that the cabinet can be placed in place and connected. Using anti-static surface layer, three separate coating, so that the resistance value of the container is lower than the conventional standard. A ring of anti-static copper strips is installed in the container. Static electricity is led into the ground through the wire to release static electricity and avoid fire caused by electrostatic sparks. The explosion-proof electrostatic release column is set at the door of the container, and the staff should touch it to remove the static electricity of the human body before entering.   Anti-leakage The ground area in the container is provided with an anti-leakage layer, the height is about 15cm, the bottom of the container adopts a thick anti-slip printing pedal, the top is laid with galvanized grating, and the cabinet is provided with a discharge outlet at one end. Customers need to collect and treat waste liquid on a regular basis.     Explosion-proof ventilation&purification system Ventilation blinds are provided in the cabinet, and anti-pest nets are provided inside the blinds. The material of the ventilation device should be non-combustible or flame retardant. The explosion-proof axial fan is used in the forced exhaust system. The fan only starts when the combustible /VOC gas alarm and the morning and evening air change, and stops the fan operation when the smoke fire alarm is detected. Equipped with activated carbon filter.   Environmental monitoring system The container is equipped with explosion-proof monitoring, with night vision function, 360° monitoring the situation in the container. The container is equipped with explosion-proof combustible gas probe, explosion-proof temperature probe, explosion-proof smoke sensor probe, any probe starts the sound and light alarm outside the cabinet. Meet the requirements of GB17914-2013 "Technical Conditions for Storage and Maintenance of Flammable and Explosive Commodities" to install combustible gas detectors. When detecting alarms in the cabinet, the alarm bell and lamp are automatically activated, and the fan is cut off when the smoke alarm is generated.When the gas concentration in the cabinet is close to the safety critical value of 20%-30%, the control system will intelligent implementation of various disposal measures, in the case of possible danger, the control system will start the audible and visual alarm, the alarm sound is above 85 decibels, and the port reserved in the explosion-proof distribution cabinet can provide remote warning to the user's fire system host.   Intelligent management system The intelligent management software platform should be able to monitor the internal storage temperature, volatile organic matter concentration and combustible gas concentration in real time online through the mobile terminal (ios system, Android system through app or wechat mini program) and the computer terminal, as well as the internal alarm situation. The whole equipment is centrally controlled by the microcomputer system. According to the parameters set by the customer, the computer system automatically detects the sensor parameters in real time, and intelligent linkage controls the start and stop of the exhaust system, the start and stop of the temperature control system, the switch of the lighting system, early warning and alarm.

Indoor and outdoor storage of hazardous chemicals
When we are talking about the storage of flammable, combustible and corrosive chemicals, the safety of workplace and warehouse is always the priority. Sometimes our clients got confused about the solution, they do not know if it is safe to store the chemicals indoor, meanwhile the cost of outdoor storage proposal is much higher. The answer is quite straight:Check your volume of storage and follow the local regulation. Of course there are safety risks like fires, explosions, besides it the deviation against the local regulation would lead to large penalties charged by government, in order to follow the regulations, you would have to store your chemicals in approved containers, cabinets or lockers.   First let us take a review of the regulation: The chemical storage regulations are based on the danger level of chemical. The NFPA and OSHA defined the grade of chemicals by their physical and chemical characteristics. The chemical with higher grade would take greater restrictions on usage and storage. Small volumes do not need outdoor storage, according to OSHA 1910.106(e)(2)(ii)[b], the limit of liquids for storage would be: Category 1: 25 gallons Category 2,3 or 4: 120 gallons Category 2,3 or 4 in single portable tank: 660 gallons   To hold strong chemicals indoor there are specified cabinets to be used: Flammable chemical storage cabinets are designed to provide heat resistance and protect chemicals inside from fires. The air gap between walls would insulate fire and the self latching device would make sure the cabinet is closed when fire starts out. Those cabinets are located in work places, nearby the location of usage and hold enough chemical supplies for daily use. But, there are volume limits according to the local regulation. About the local regulation, please always remember: it is differently specified about the chemical category, volume of storage between cities, states and countries   Let us take one example here, for facilities like school, labs, small sized companies or work place, the total volume of chemical storage is requested not to exceed the limit: .   Please pay attention to the numbers shown in the table above, it is taken from the local regulation of Beijing, China, which means in the capital city of China, it is the limit of your chemical storage, no matter it is indoor or outdoor. And for the limit of MAQ (maximum allowable quantities) of chemicals to stay indoor, it might be differ per local fire codes and regulations.So the most important thing is to consult Bureau of Safety Supervision (or Authority having_jurisdiction) for final determination of your storage. Hazard Pictograms
Today we are going to talk about some pictograms, those are used on labels to alert chemical users hazards that they may be exposed. The hazard pictograms consist of a symbol on white background within red boarder and represents a distinct hazard. The hazard pictograms are from the international Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). To us, we always use some of them on the labeling of our products, just to inform our clients and users about the type of material that storing in our products: Take our most common product line of safety cabinet as an example, here we can see the labeling of this cabinet is using the sign of flammable, which means the liquid with flash point temperature between 0 and 140°F (60 °C). And depends on the complex chemical characteristics of different material, additional config like ventilation or fire extinguishing system would be needed for fire hazard. And according to the EN standard, the cabinet is painted in yellow. And for this cabinet we can tell from the label that the chemical stored inside is corrosive when referring to the effect of living tissues. It can be poison, cause chemical burn and distinct damage, even rusting to metal. Some type of corrosion creates corrosive mists when contacting air. Sc depends on the chemical, we have solutions like PP tray, PP lining, ventilation system to reduce the hazard of corrosion. According to the standard, the cabinet color is blue. For narcotic storage cabinet, we use toxic symbol on our labeling, which shows the material inside would be harmful to living health, the control of this kind of material would be extremely strict, so usually the lock system is updated and normally calls for two operators. And depends on the toxic chemicals inside, different systems are available, too. According to the standard, the cabinet color is light gray.   For any industries, working areas or products involved with those hazard pictograms, people working around need to pay special attention to them, and when there is hazard around you in your working area, you need to learn some basic knowledge to protect yourself for your own safety. that is the basic of working safe and healthy.
